New Video: White Lights

Here’s a funky little ditty in the midtempo pocket. I want you to dance, but not too hard. The song’s foundation lays in the bass and electric piano chords, which I somehow managed to string together more of in this tune than any other. Just don’t ask me what key it’s in.

I’ve been exploring jazz chord theory a bit more, after a recent binge of Adam Neely’s YouTube channel. I suggest all of my musician and producer colleagues check out his Girl from Ipanema deep dive, if you haven’t already seen it. This inspired me to figure out how to string more than three chords together, which I did. I like the result, which you can hear in the C section of this tune.

As for the video… I’ve been meaning to jump into After Effects to see if I can create something interesting to accompany my music. It pumps, it’s trippy, and I think it’s a good start for two-days work. Plus, who doesn’t like a kaleidoscopic journey through nature?

Get down.
